Vermont: Protect Children from Toxic Chemicals!

Despite the many successes and advancements in the field of children’s environmental health over the past few decades, today’s children face an epidemic of illness and chronic diseases linked to environmental exposures and our changing climate. There is an urgent need to put children and families back into the forefront of our nation’s actions regarding health and environment.

Governor Phil Scott has joined lawmakers across the country in declaring Oct. 12, 2017 to be Children’s Environmental Health Day – but our children need more than a proclamation, they need action!

We can’t afford to put off protecting our children and all Vermonters from toxic chemicals for another year. Send a message today to tell Governor Scott we need him to support swift passage and sign S.103 into law – a bill that will take important steps to better protect Vermont families from toxic chemicals.

Dear Governor:

Thank you for declaring Oct. 12, 2017 as Children’s Environmental Health Day – but Vermont families need more than a proclamation, we need action. To better protect our children and all Vermonters from toxic chemicals, I strongly encourage you to support swift passage of S.103, and sign it into law.

Despite the many successes and advancements in the field of children’s environmental health over the past few decades, today’s children face an epidemic of illness and chronic diseases linked to environmental exposures and our changing climate. There is an urgent need to put children and families back into the forefront of our state’s actions regarding health and environment.

Enacting S.103 is a common sense step for Vermonters and our families. After the devastating impacts of the PFOA contamination in the Bennington area, it is clear Vermont needs to take additional action. Let’s make sure that no other families have to wonder if their water, food, or home products are harming their families.

Protect Vermont families by supporting quick passage and signing S.103!

Sincerely,
