Today, Vermont Conservation Voters (VCV) announced its endorsement of Vermont Attorney General T.J. Donovan for re-election.

“Attorney General Donovan has demonstrated strong leadership on environmental issues since taking office in 2017, and VCV is confident that he will continue to work to hold polluters accountable and ensure a healthy environment for all Vermonters,” said Lauren Hierl, executive director of VCV.

Attorney General Donovan added, “Vermonters care about our environment and are worried about the threats it faces. They want and deserve clean water to drink and clean air to breathe. My team and I remain committed to working every day – here in Vermont and on the national level – to do our part to protect Vermont’s environment from harm.”

In 2017-2018, A.G. Donovan took myriad actions to protect the environment, from challenging the federal government’s plan to roll back federal greenhouse gas emission and fuel economy standards for cars and trucks, to revoking the ability of certain pesticides to appear in food, to resolving claims against landfill and solid waste operators for violating rules.

“With a federal administration actively undermining progress on numerous issues, including climate change and toxic contamination of our waters and air, it’s critical to have a state leader like A.G. Donovan, who is prioritizing Vermonters’ health and environment,” added Hierl. “We encourage Vermonters to re-elect TJ Donovan as Vermont’s Attorney General.”
