Today, Vermont Conservation Voters (VCV) announced its endorsement of Vermont Lieutenant Governor David Zuckerman for re-election.
In his term as Lieutenant Governor, and during his nearly 20-year tenure in the Vermont House and Senate, David has demonstrated consistent leadership on environmental issues and a range of progressive policies. He has strongly advocated for renewable energy and responsible stewardship of our natural lands.
Zuckerman has reliably used the office of Lieutenant Governor to bring Vermonters together, with an open office and regular events such as a monthly film series to educate and engage viewers on important issues. VCV was pleased to cosponsor several of these events, including a film on the disturbing history of toxic PFOA – a chemical that has contaminated Vermonters’ drinking water in several communities.
“Lt. Governor Zuckerman has been a longtime champion for policies that take care of our environment and communities,” said Lauren Hierl, Executive Director of Vermont Conservation Voters. “Moreover, Zuckerman’s experience as an organic farmer allows him to bring to the State House his firsthand knowledge of the impacts of climate change, and his deep connection to our land, water, and wildlife.”
Hierl added, “VCV encourages Vermonters to re-elect David Zuckerman as Lt. Governor of Vermont, to continue his valuable leadership on issues that help promote a healthy environment and communities.”
