From Lauren Hierl, VCV Political Director
I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year!
This week, legislators return to the State House for the 2018 legislative session. Since 1982, VCV has advocated for sound environmental and conservation policies, while working to elect pro-environment candidates to office. This year will be no different – we’ll be at the State House and working with advocates like yourself to hold elected officials accountable for the decisions they make affecting our air, water, open space, health, and quality of life.
VCV is committed to keeping you informed so that you can help advocate for the environmental initiatives you care about most.
Here are several ways you can be involved:
Environmental Common Agenda. Each year, VCV works with partner organizations in Vermont to identify and advocate for the most pressing environmental issues. Join us on Thurs., Jan. 18 at the T.W. Wood Gallery in Montpelier from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for a one-night pop-up photography exhibit with Audubon Vermont that will feature this year’s Audubon Photography Award’s impressive winning photos. At the event, we’ll be debuting the 2018 Environmental Common Agenda of Legislative Priorities!
Take Action. Throughout the session, we’ll be sending you emails on how you can make your voice heard, and regularly updating our Take Action opportunities on the VCV website to give you timely, impactful ways to protect Vermont’s communities and environment. Right now, you can help kickstart Vermont’s transformation of its transportation sector!
Share the Love. Don’t leave your friends and family in the dark – forward this email to them so they can join the VCV advocate network, or invite them to follow us on Facebook, or Twitter. Each week during the 2018 session, we’ll be sending out a Legislative Bulletin, posting frequently on Twitter, and hosting live Facebook conversations to keep you in the know on important legislative opportunities.
Become a VCV Supporter. You make our work possible – through your actions and your support. By kicking off the new year with a donation to VCV, you are ensuring that VCV remains a strong and effective voice for protecting Vermont’s environment for now and generations to come.
Together, we can make 2018 a year of renewal, rejuvenation, and revitalization for Vermont communities and our environment!
