Democratic candidates for Governor, Amanda Janoo and Aly Richards, in Colchester on May 26, 2026

It’s the end of May already which means a couple of things: the legislature has adjourned and candidates have filed their consent forms for the upcoming election. It also means our work to educate voters shifts into next gear. We are always your source for how those in the legislature vote on environmental and democracy bills, but come election season we also endorse candidates and co-organize candidate forums so that voters are the most informed they can be going to the polls.

Last Tuesday, we co-hosted our a candidate forum with the Democratic candidates for Governor, Amanda Janoo and Aly Richards. Town Meeting TV was on hand to livestream the sold out forum, which you can view by clicking the photo below.

Missed the forum? We have another on June 17th at the Vergennes Opera House where we will be asking the candidates additional questions including ones from the audience we didn’t get to yet.

In April we hosted a forum for the Democratic candidates for Lieutenant Governor in Rutland. That forum can be viewed here. Or, for those in the southeastern Vermont, those candidates will be in Putney this Tuesday night at Next Stage Arts for another forum. You can register for that here.

You can keep tabs on all the forums we are taking part of on our events page, which also includes a forum on June 30 in Hartford for the Democratic candidates for the Windsor Senate district. We’ll be adding more in the coming weeks, too.

Don’t forget: the Primary Election is Tuesday, August 11th and early voting begins June 27th.

Next week, the Democracy Dispatch podcast season will come to a close with our annual Session Shakedown conversation where we discuss the ultimate fate our priority bills this biennium.

Thanks for being an educated voter,
