As voters in many parts of the country head to the polls today, we will be anxiously awaiting the results – and what those results will mean for the future of our country.

A strong democracy depends on engaged citizens who vote, and who are willing to advocate for the wellbeing of their communities and our planet. We also need passionate and dedicated people to step up and run for office.

Vermont Conservation Voters works to help elect candidates to public office who share our social and environmental justice values. We provide candidates with training and on-the-ground support in their communities. Once in office, we equip elected officials with the information they need to advance forward-looking policies for a more just and healthy Vermont.

VCV is currently developing a set of tools for Vermonters who are thinking about running for office in 2018. In the meantime, we encourage you to check out resources available from groups like VoteRunLead and Wellstone Action.

And let us know if you’re considering a run to see how we can help!

This year has made it abundantly clear that who we elect matters, profoundly.

The question is: will you run?
