Guests: Rep. Amy Sheldon

On this week’s episode of the Democracy Dispatch Podcast, I recap my time in Washington, D.C. last week attending the America Votes State Summit. I give an overview of my time there, some initiatives shared and learned, and the elected officials I was able to meet and hear from.

Rep. Amy Sheldon (D-Middlebury) returns to the podcast to reflect on H.687, a bill that modernizes Vermont’s land use law, which passed the House last week (89-51) and what her committee has been focusing on now.

We celebrate other priority policy wins, such as S.259, the Climate Superfund Act known as Make Big Oil Pay, passing the Senate on a vote of 21-5. And of course, we provide status updates on each of the bills we are tracking.
