Vermont Conservation Voters (VCV) has announced its endorsements of pro-environment candidates running in the 2022 General Elections. As a non-partisan organization, VCV has a long history of endorsing candidates from across the political spectrum who share the organization’s values.

Through its endorsements, VCV aims to educate voters across Vermont on candidates who will work to advance policies that protect the environment and promote health while improving equity and strengthening our democracy.

To inform their endorsement process, VCV closely tracks lawmakers’ actions at the State House, including key votes on environmental bills via their Environmental Scorecard, and sponsorship of legislation that advances the Environmental Common Agenda of top legislative priorities, which VCV releases each legislative session in partnership with other advocacy organizations.

Vermont Conservation Voters has endorsed a slate of pro-environment candidates running for seats in the Vermont Senate and House, available on VCV’s website, as well the following statewide candidates:

  • Brenda Seigel for Governor
  • David Zuckerman for Lieutenant Governor
  • Charity Clark for Attorney General
  • Sarah Copeland Hanzas for Secretary of State
  • Mike Pieciak for State Treasurer

Lauren Hierl, Executive Director of Vermont Conservation Voters, stated, “We are pleased to endorse this slate of impressive candidates for Vermont’s statewide and legislative offices. We need leaders ready and willing to tackle the challenges of our time, including the climate crisis, democracy in peril, and racial injustice. We believe VCV’s endorsed candidates will fight for a healthier and more equitable future for all Vermonters.”
